Legal authorities report that a former physician stands accused of performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
