American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, according to reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a announcement.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific TV Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, including:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.

The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
