Passionate followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who leaped a barrier and touched the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore.
A circulating video depicts the individual from Australia shoving aside camera operators and lunging at Grande while the cast made its way down a event pathway accompanied by supporters.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by guards.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "free after being arrested", though court documents showed that he was set to be present on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram feed includes recordings of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last winter.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user wrote.
Numerous followers criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding hundreds.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote a further response on Instagram.
A number of attendees also questioned security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while some called for social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's videos.
In clips spreading on the internet, Grande appeared surprised when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by security.
Grande has not commented on the incident, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.
Many of fans had congregated in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had queued for as long as eight hours before it began.
The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-part interpretation of the popular theatrical show Wicked, which revolves around the surprising friendship between two distinct witches.
The show itself is a adaptation of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a rosé glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.
They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of the previous year in the UK, and scored ten Academy Award nods, earning several for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
